About Me
Hello! Wei Hsien here! Gosh, I've been teaching for over 20 years now! For the last 7 years or so, I've been a US/UK university admissions coach as well as tutor in English and History in Malaysia. I've also taught many high school students, undergraduates, and adult learners from all over the world, from the US to Pakistan and Japan. It's been quite a ride! I love interacting with my students of all ages and helping them grow their skills and knowledge, whatever their starting point might be. As much as possible, I want to know my students and their learning needs, create a safe environment for asking questions and making mistakes, and let their curiosity drive us places! I always want my students to read critically, think deeply, and write clearly—skills that they can use not only for an exam or two, but for life. My Experience
24 years of experience in small group and one-to-one tutoring (f2f and online) Main areas: + University admissions consulting and coaching (US and UK) - I've assisted hundreds of undergraduates who've since been accepted to universities of their choice, whether mid-tier or Ivy League, through essay-writing support, application guidance, and strategy consultation. + English Language teaching - IGCSE and A-Level syllabi for First-language English (Cambridge, EdExcel), Second-language English (Cambridge, EdExcel) + Philosophy and Religion (my pet academic interest!) - for undergraduates and adult learners
